Mental
Health
Starts Here.
Undugu Foundation is a mental health initiative promoting emotional and mental wellness within the Black and Brown male community — through safe, structured, in-person brotherhood in Atlanta, Georgia.
Network
Harambee — We Pull Together
Undugu is built on the African philosophy of collective advancement. We believe that when Black and Brown men heal together, entire communities transform. Every session, every conversation, every act of accountability moves us all forward.
A Mental Health
Initiative for
Our Brothers
Undugu Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Atlanta, Georgia. We cultivate safe, structured, in-person spaces rooted in brotherhood, accountability, and collective advancement.
We blend structured nonprofit governance with community-based healing — because mental health is not a private struggle. It is a communal responsibility.
Learn More About Us- Brotherhood
- A state of being family
- The bond forged through shared struggle and shared purpose
Unlike online spaces or digital communities, Undugu is built on the irreplaceable power of physical presence — men sitting together, speaking honestly, and holding one another accountable to growth.
Every Tuesday.
No Exceptions.
Our bi-weekly Tuesday sessions are the heartbeat of Undugu — two distinct formats, one continuous brotherhood.
“Chop-It-Up“
A confidential, in-person safe space for emotional dialogue. Men gather to speak honestly about what they’re carrying — relationships, mental health, grief, purpose, and the lived experience of being Black and Brown in America. What is said in the room stays in the room.
Undugu Speaks
A structured public-speaking development session focused on emotional literacy through the power of voice. Men prepare and deliver real speeches, receive constructive feedback, and grow into communicators who can articulate their truth with clarity and confidence. Sessions are recorded for personal development and training.

Our Impact
What Our Brothers Say
Walking into Undugu was the first time I’d been in a room full of Black men where we were actually allowed to be human — to be vulnerable without it being seen as weakness. That changed everything for me.
Undugu Speaks gave me language I didn’t know I had. Learning to articulate what I feel — in front of my brothers — made me a better father, a better man. I didn’t expect a speaking class to heal me. But it did.
These brothers hold me accountable in a way I’ve never experienced. Not with judgment — with love. Real love. The kind that says, “We see you, and we need you to show up for yourself.”
Your Seat at the
Table Is Waiting
Undugu meets every Tuesday. No experience necessary. No judgment. Just brothers committed to growth.
Brotherhood
as Medicine
Understanding who we are, why we exist, and why in-person brotherhood is not optional — it is essential.
What We
Are Here to Do
Undugu Foundation is a mental health initiative promoting mental and emotional health within the Black and Brown male community through safe, structured, in-person spaces rooted in brotherhood, accountability, and collective advancement.
We exist because Black and Brown men deserve structured, accessible, community-rooted mental health support. Not clinical detachment. Not digital substitutes. Real human presence.
What We’re
Building Toward
A world where every Black and Brown man has access to a structured brotherhood — a community where healing is normalized, leadership is cultivated, and emotional intelligence is a source of power, not shame.
We envision Undugu chapters in cities across America — each one a local anchor of healing, accountability, and advancement for men of color.

- Collective effort and shared responsibility
Black & Brown Men’s
Mental Health
Systemic barriers, cultural stigma, and a lack of culturally competent spaces have left Black and Brown men among the most underserved populations in mental health care. Undugu exists to close that gap — one Tuesday at a time.
Cultural Stigma
Traditional definitions of Black masculinity have long discouraged vulnerability. Undugu redefines strength as the courage to be honest — with yourself and with your brothers.
Systemic Barriers
Access to mental health care remains inequitable. Undugu provides a free, community-based alternative rooted in lived experience — not clinical distance.
The Power of Presence
Online communities cannot replicate what happens when Black men sit in the same room and speak truth to each other. Physical presence is foundational to our model.
Pull
Together.
Brotherhood
as a Practice
Undugu is not a support group. It is not therapy. It is a structured brotherhood — a disciplined community of men who show up weekly, speak honestly, and hold each other to their highest selves.
We combine structured nonprofit governance with community-based healing because we believe that organizational integrity is itself a form of respect for the men we serve.

Evidence of
Brotherhood
Real numbers. Real voices. Real transformation happening every Tuesday in Atlanta.
Emotional Literacy
Outcomes
Emotional Articulation
Members develop the vocabulary and confidence to name, describe, and communicate their emotional experiences — in the brotherhood and beyond.
Accountable Relationships
Men form genuine bonds of accountability — relationships grounded in honesty, respect, and a shared commitment to each other’s growth.
Stronger Families
As men heal and grow emotionally, those changes ripple into their homes — improving relationships with partners, children, and extended family.
Leadership & Voice
Through Undugu Speaks, men develop into confident public communicators — leaders who can articulate their experience with clarity and power.
Brothers Speak
“I came to Undugu thinking I was doing it for someone else. I stayed because I realized how much I needed it myself. There is something sacred about Black men creating a space where we are allowed to be human. Undugu gave me that.”— James H. · Member, Atlanta
“Undugu Speaks taught me that how I say something matters as much as what I say. I stopped hiding behind silence. I started showing up — in the room, in my relationship, in my life. That’s what this brotherhood does.”— Anthony R. · Member, Atlanta
“I used to think talking about my feelings was a liability. Undugu proved me wrong. The men in that room are some of the strongest I’ve ever known — and they are the most honest. That combination changed my life.”— Terrance M. · Member, Atlanta
“My son sees me differently now. He sees a father who isn’t afraid to work on himself. That’s what I want him to inherit — not my silence, but my willingness to grow. Undugu made that possible.”— David C. · Member, Atlanta
